Gunmen attack catholic church in Kaduna

Yesterday, unknown gunmen suspected to be members of Islamic sect Boko-Haram attacked a Catholic church in Kaduna.

The catholic church is located at Ungwar Pau-Pau in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State. 

One of the survivors disclosed that one of the youth guarding the Church was killed while several others injured are receiving treatment at various hospitals in the area. 

An Eyewitness who spoke with The Nation said, “They came with sophisticated weapons shooting and one person died instantly while several others have been admitted at various hospital. “Church Mass was going on when the gunmen came and started shooting”. 

Another resident, said, “Military personnel came and asked some of our youth to lead them to where the attackers followed. As I am talking to you, they are combing the bush”. 

The deputy chairman of  Kachia Local Government, Hon. Alfred Alfred confirmed the incident to newsmen. Alfred said he was yet to get the figure of casualty of the Church attack. Police in Kaduna is yet to issue an official statement concerning the attack.
